Mission Statement

A regional division of

everywhere, especially in our own communities. In this day and age, the organizations that are the most successful are almost invariably the ones with the most information at their command.

6. To help fund our outreaches around the world, which fight slavery with whatever means they have to give but are often grossly underfunded.

7. To help provide for the needs of liberated victims of trafficking, giving them a place to stay and aiding them on their long path to recovery.

8. To work to better the conditions of the regions where most poverty-driven slaves are abducted from, eliminating the economic desperation that drives so many poor young men and women into the claws of the traffickers.

Modern human trafficking is a more widespread problem than ever before, and with the advent of the Information Age, it has become easier than ever for these criminals to evade justice. Our methods must be equally diverse and ingenious if we are to defeat the traffickers on their own turf and restore the freedom of millions of abused children, women and men.

As an organization dedicated to fighting a global, many-sided problem, Not For Sale strives to approach the problem of human trafficking from a variety of angles.

Our goals, both short- and long-term, include:

1. The education of the general public about this global issue, to bring international attention to its presence around the globe.

2. Enlisting the cooperation of businesses in boycotting trafficked products by only buying goods produced by free labor.

3. Strengthening international laws against human trafficking and increasing the effectiveness of prosecution laws in convicting modern-day slavers.

4. Keeping a keen watch on our own communities, to step up our ability to discover trafficking where it exists among us and to convict the perpetrators - but not the victims! - of the slave trade.

5. To gain as much data as possible on the status of slavery

"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

-Edmund Burke
